“There’s no liberation without actually leaning forward and looking at the things that we habitually run away from, in order to see things as they really are.”
Welcome.
I believe it’s simply human to need communities of support. In order to thrive we need relationship with safe and trusted others who see us, help us see ourselves, and hold our work with us.
Building that kind of relationship together is no simple task, and figuring out how to do it is sometimes the most impactful part of therapy. As we go, I'm guided by a combination of depth-oriented models through an anti-oppression lens. My training and experience working with trauma informs every aspect of the work. Who I Work With
My therapy participants are intuitive, creative people who have been through a lot and feel like there's just something they haven't been able to get to in their other tries with therapy.
Many of the people I meet with live with the impacts of difficult childhoods and family dynamics, have suffered abuse or neglect, or have had persistent experiences of being other-ed for various reasons.
Sometimes they know exactly what kind of help they want. Other times they aren't exactly sure why they're suffering, but they know they want some relief and a better understanding of their own lives.
In relationship and couples therapy, the dynamics I work with are usually between people who share a lot of love and commitment, but feel trapped by conflict, stuck in cycles, feel their pasts flaring up, or have a hard time reconciling their differences.
Where to Begin
I offer an initial consultation hour to open up what brings you to therapy and for me to share how I work. If you decide we're not a good fit, you won't be charged for that time. Looking for some help is a courageous step in and of itself — you’re already doing brave work.
